Gaelic Language Plans

Welcome to the Gaelic Language Plans section

Statutory Gaelic language plans are developed by public authorities in Scotland under the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005. These are prepared in close cooperation with Bòrd na Gàidhlig and aim to implement the National Gaelic Language Plan. A list of current Gaelic Language Plans that have been approved by Bòrd na Gàidhlig can be accessed below. More detailed guidance on the statutory context, aimed at officers responsible for preparing and implementing Gaelic language plans, can be accessed through the ‘Professional’ tab.

Some of the PDFs on this page may not be screen-reader accessible. If you require any of these documents in an alternative format, please email oifis@gaidhlig.scot.
