Gaelic Immersion Courses for Education Practitioners Grants 2024/25

This scheme closed at 3pm on Tuesday 26 March 2024, with applications under assessment.

The Gaelic Immersion Courses for Education Practitioners grants scheme is now open for 2024/25 applications.

The scheme is designed to provide support for local authorities to sponsor qualified teachers or ELC practitioners, who have some Gaelic skills and are not currently teaching through the medium of Gaelic, to undertake a year-long Gaelic immersion course so that they subsequently teach through the medium of Gaelic for the local authority.

Up to £50,000 per teacher is available to those that are successful through the scheme, with a total budget of £150,000 available to the scheme.

Closing Date for Applications

Funding applications should be submitted to Bòrd na Gàidhlig as soon as possible before 3pm on Tuesday 26 March 2024.  Late applications will NOT be allowed unless prior permission from Bòrd na Gàidhlig has been provided.
